oUR STORY
While working as a barback in Austin, Texas, Diego Ramirez noticed something missing from the shelves. Tequila and mezcal were everywhere, yet sotol, the native spirit of Northern Mexico, was nowhere to be found.
Knowing that Enrique Valencia, a family friend and master distiller, was producing sotol in Coyame, Chihuahua, the hometown of Diego’s grandparents, the idea began to take shape.
A conversation with his best friend Francisco Andrés Pagán, who was looking for a more meaningful pursuit beyond cybersecurity, turned that idea into reality.
Together they founded Diego Andrés Sotol with one mission: to build the leading modern sotol brand in the world by combining authentic Mexican heritage with modern design, quality, and cultural significance.
Crafted in Coyame, Diego Andrés Sotol is more than a spirit. It represents a cultural shift that introduces a clean, sustainable, and approachable expression of the desert to today’s drinker while honoring the traditions that inspired it.
